Women in Comics (aka -Stabity Stab-)

I've dabbled in the edges of comics, and have enjoyed what I've read, but wouldn't call myself a comic geek by any means I have a basic knowledge of the major plot lines in the DCU, but that's largely from splurging on Batman fanfic after the movie last summer.

However, this does not prevent me from being most impressed by the righteous and incredibly articulate rage currently being expressed over at monkeycrackmary's LJ. It seems that comments from one of the DC writers (I think) have proved the last straw for already pissed female (and a number of male) comic readers. They are tired of the representation of women in comics and are taking action.

Even if you don't know anything about comics, go read this and this (especially the comments), as much of it is what I've been saying for ages about women in the media in in general and sci fi TV in particular, only way better.
