I've been reading various reviews linked from
spnnewsletter, and have come up with the following observations/thoughts/pointless rambles.
I am the only person in existence who thinks the Opening Montage of Song is poorly done and generally irritating. I blame this on watching too many vids that are actually, you know, good.
I am one of maybe two people who actually liked Meg and will miss her (though Meg got huge points based on the gender/actual personality combination, so she got away with more than she would in just about any other show).
There has been a lot of comments about how selfish/obsessed/nuts Sam is (especially in contrast to Dean and comparison with John), which I'm not sure is entirely fair. My definition of obsession is having all of your eggs in one basket. A well balanced person does not have just one mission in life, generally. They have work, family, friends, religion, hobbies, school, different friends, Live Journals, whatever, and divide their emotional dependency between them. That way if one goes screwy on you, you can turn to something else for support. If your boyfriend runs off with the milkman, you can phone your Mom and cry and/or go over to your best friend's and eat ice cream and watch stupid movies. If work or school is screwing you up, you can go to your boyfriend and hopefully feel better for getting laid. See? I'm not saying that one shouldn't take priority over the others, I'm always for Family First, but there should be some balance.
( Spoilers for season one )
