Stories For Me!
18 May 2011 10:56One of the things I love about the fandom I'm in is that people not infrequently write stories for each other. Which means that occasionally people write stories for me (there are also a couple of people who are fairly easily instigated into writing stories).
sinngrace wrote All Quiet on the Front for my birthday. This is a follow up to Fate, which I'm pretty sure I recced at the time. I love her for this. She's taken Miranda Rand, Danny's older half sister, who got very little story in the comics and then was retconned out by Fraction and Brubaker, and given her a whole life and personality and adventure. It's fantastic.
schmevil wrote Girls Can Do Better randomly for me. This is a follow up to The Sea Ice: -1.8 °C (28.8 °F), about Always-a-Woman!Cap adjusting to the modern world. She has a brilliant Jan in this one, and they talk about heroism and symbolism, and I love it.
I should also rec, in that it's sort of for me, and I really liked it,
Pervyficgirl's Letters Never Sent (The Girls, Girls, Girls Remix) (a remix of the drabble
sinngrace wrote for me: Peggy Carter, Agent of SHIELD). It's about Maria Stark, the bisexual (scaling pretty hard towards lesbian) scientist who has adventures and dates Peggy Carter. It's a beautiful thing.
