I actually confess I like a good origin retell, but it's so outweighed by my horror at the fact that I feel the Robins just can't weather this kind of scrutiny and still stay in a recognizable form, lol. It's funny because I'm not one of those "Dick is the most important part of Batman's story damnit!" sorts of people, but adopting at 16 just feels...really odd and wrong. My other issue is my deep and irrational love of Steph and Cass, and any exploration of the past that doesn't even mention them (as these probably will not) makes me kind of miserable.
At least with the Superman one they're skipping an origin story and giving us some pre-destruction Jor-El. Even DC's got to realize that Superman's origin story doesn't need a re-do right now. :)
