I hope everyone had fun guessing. If you're still working on it, I'm going to put the writing order under a cut. If you want to link your story to the previous one in your stream, now's the time.

I did?? HAH!

Oh yeah helpful stuff -- jeez, I got nothin'. I had a lovely time, I really enjoyed the remix I remixed and the remix the person after me did of mine, and I had a lot of fun guessing and trying to track details. As far as I could tell you ran this like a Swiss watch and everyone enjoyed the hell out of it, which is pretty grand for a fic fest. Thank you so much for doing it.

I was wondering if I should have left the Springsteen quote out or just not attributed it (let somebody fit it to that fairly obscure song) but ehh, I appreciate the guesses.

I was a little surprised I didn't see anybody associate the story I remixed w/ the one I wrote since a couple features (including the title and premise about Nat living a quiet life only have the Chitauri overturn it) is straight out of Not the One to Praise. But my fondness for deep cuts is showing in more ways than one!

If it makes you feel better, someone guessed me based on my love of assigning BPAL scents to characters, LOL.

I did catch that -- it was a lovely detail to springboard from! -- and thus correctly predicted that Four Quiet Lives was a remix of Not One to Praise, but I wasn't playing on the comm, only in chat with one of the other creators. That whole chain of stories was very strong, and I positively adored your four might've-beens. :-)

HAH! I guessed the first five in Team SHIELD, in order, and I also guessed that Family & Pepper!Cap were related. I didn't get the connection between Can you Keep a Secret? and Family, possibly because I'm actually still reading Family (and read the other one back at the start of my detective work). But! I am feeling triumphant about my guessing skillz.

Mind you, I was kind of shit at the other streams, though Mirror/Reflection and Pax Natasha/Heart skipped a beat were pretty obvious pairs.

(I really really wonder if anybody guessed anything about mine--which I doubt, because it was kind of a jink into random territory compared to the fic before and after it.)

I never made guesses on the comm, but I did have yours correctly linked with Raisons, albeit the wrong way around. *reviews notes* Oh, yes, the direct quote of "Did she say yes, yet?" :-)

Ooh! Somebody guessed a thing about my thing! :D

Yeah, when I was tracking back to who might have written the fic that Raisons d'etre remixed (and also who might have remixed my fic), there was a through line from that scene with Peggy and Maria and Nick where Maria gets hired. :D I think the first person did the scene with just Peggy & Maria and the line "Since I founded SHIELD, I think I can hire you" (paraphrase), and then the next person did that & added Nick and the line "Did she say yes, yet?". Which I poached. :D Then the person after me kind of went in a different direction, but took a direct quote from mine (about secrets) as their tag line/general thread. So that was cool to be able to track the quotes like that--which doesn't work if someone doesn't keep direct quotes, though! :D

I have this issue too! I just check yours everytime out of habit, now.

For some reason SevenOfSpade's story is still showing as Anonymous; some weird hiccup I assume.,

Feedback: it worked really well and I honestly can't think of an improvement to make. I particularly appreciated
a) your heads-up that my turn was coming
b) your patience when I was still to upload on the deadline day.

The gap between when I wrote and when the collection opened meant I'd half-forgotten both what I'd written and what I'd remixed, which was also a pleasure of rediscovery.

I am a perpetually over-scheduled person, and this format works way better for me than the exchanges I've done previously: a fortnight is easier for me to schedule in than 6-8 weeks, and I found remixing much easier to get started than anything I've written in response to an exchange request.

Yeah, I really appreciated the hands-on-but-not-fussing approach. It really helped to have reminders. I agree re the format working better for me, too.

Haha, same! I was like, "Oh I haven't written anything all year, have I?" and then oh right, I wrote for this fest! Like...two months ago or something. So that was pretty cool. :D

Worked fine for me. Yes, I had timing issues with getting it done in the two weeks, but part of that was ekeing out a story that worked on page as well as in my head...

And it is kind of nice to get the 'delayed story' angle - like others, I kind of forgot what I wrote and what I wrote off, so it's nice to come back to it at the end!

I can't think of anything that would improve the remix chain.

I do think 2 weeks is going to be too short for me as a rule (maybe obvious since I ended up needing 3) -- though this exchange takes less time than a regular exchange probably, since the assignment is pretty specific and there's a starting point to work with.

Granted, I was in a wildcard slot so I didn't have time to plan when I'd be writing and set aside the time, and the assignment ended up coming at the worst/busiest time for me.

But 3 weeks does generally feel a lot more doable to me than 2 -- makes it more likely I'll have a whole weekend to set aside. Though as the festrunner, you have a better idea whether you get enough within the 2 week time frame to make it worth setting that framework and granting extensions as needed or starting out with 3 (and still probably getting requests for extensions.)

Anyway, I'm much like you in that I often don't spend that much time actually writing a story but need time for working it out in my head/ possibly for canon review before getting started. Though I've certainly been known to write pinch hits or treats in much less time...

And I'll just repeat what's been said before, that I really appreciated your work keeping the fest running smoothly and being the right combination of on-the-ball with reminders and understanding of delays. Cracker jack job of coming up with such a creative idea and then getting it to work. I'm not really even in MCU fandom but the idea, as well as the people involved, intrigued me so much that I had to play, and I'm so glad I did.
