Title: Wives and Sweethearts
Fandom: Stargate: SG-1
Rating: PG
Word count: 122
Season: One

Initially, Teal'c assumed that the warriors of the Tau'ri lived apart from their families, perhaps for safety or custom. Popular media told him otherwise, but DanielJackson had spent considerable time explaining why that was an unreliable source of intelligence. CaptainCarter had helped.

As he became acquainted with more members of the SGC, he realised that they did not have wives or children at all. If messhall gossip had any more credibility then television, it certainly wasn't because anyone took vows of celibacy.

When GeneralHammond told him about the Tau'ri military, and the implications of the word "classified," Teal'c wondered how this world had survived as long as it had. He was glad that their leader, at least, had someone he fought for.

"May they never meet."

Humor, a believable Teal'c voice, and a touch of angst.

Thank you.:)

Oh I love your Teal'c voice, I've only just noticed on the second read through how the names are written too. =D

Doctor Who, Stargate, Pirates ... do you mind if I friend you? I'm mostly quiet and have references. =D

I'm currently getting my hands on the early seasons of SG1 and I have to agree, more Teal'c!

Eight! I adore the Big Finish Audios, but I have sworn an unbreakable oath to wait till our bandwidth goes back up before I try to get some more (DLing anything over icon size blocks everyone else's access at the moment). I have a few on my flist that have copies from BBC7 though and a really good sci-fi book/DVD/comic shop I can get them from when they come out on CD. =D

The Chimes Of Midnight? I loved that one, Charlie is such a good character. =D
My favourite over all is Caerdroia, three Doctors! Cows! The more abstract and silly he gets the more dangerous he is! =D

I doubt I could be quiet if I tried!

I love Teal'c's early clashes with Tau'ri culture, and fanfic so rarely uses it. This is a fantastic drabble! I love how Teal'c considers the lack of family a liability.
